Our Project Experience

Critical RF Engineering

We designed a PCB assembly for Critical RF, a pioneer in Radio over Internet Protocol (RoIP) technology. The assembly was created using the bracket manufacturer’s STEP file and an Altium 3D image imported into SolidWorks. This board integrates RF signal, audio, and logic for public safety, utilities, and commercial enterprises. Critical RF offers software-based voice communication solutions for these sectors.

Polycom Integration

Our consulting and engineering services provided solutions to the audio quality problems that plagued the first Polycom Soundstation prototype units. By establishing correct grounding and power distribution techniques, 90% of the audio quality problems were resolved. A full-room anechoic chamber was also built to solve audio quality issues related to the acoustic separation of the microphones and speaker

Medical Device Engineering

Our consulting services delivered  a redesign and reduced size of the control circuitry that receives myoelectric voltages from a residual limb to manipulate a prosthetic hand.

We also provided biomedical engineering services for a dorsal root ganglia (DRG) therapy device, and an imaging system device for newborn infants that helps control adequate oxygen levels or see a growth of blood vessels to mitigate oxygen issues.

One Touch Systems

Our consulting and engineering services took over a stalled project without a working prototype to high-production units within 3 months. Electronic design included a telephone interface (FCC Part 68), RS485 serial communications port, analog pre-processing for digital audio, 80C51 microcontroller, and interface to ISA bus. Mechanical designs included sheet metal chassis, sheet metal covers, injection molded cases, and injection molded front bezels.

Mechanical Machining and Sheet Metal

FC Engineering Services has offered consulting and engineering services on several mechanical and sheet metal projects such as the machined aluminum drive plate designed in ProEngineer Wildfire 2.0, an adjustable width storage rack, lofted cone, and others. The designs were made using SolidWorks.

This drive plate was designed to specific tolerances as a critical component in a system demanding optimum performance levels.

Design incorporating digital audio and an RF converter that converts base-band video to NTSC channels 3 and 4. Functions also on this board are Analog telephone interface (FCC Part 68); RS485 serial communications; Display and front panel I/O; ISA bus interface.

High-end audio-conferencing equipment with audio quality achieved by grounding and power distribution techniques, as well as acoustic separation of the microphones and speaker – designed using a full-room anechoic chamber.
